Three days gives you enough time to see both sides of Goa — the beaches and the history, the north and the south. Rent a scooter on day one and keep it for the trip.
nn
Day 1 — Old Goa and Panaji. Start with the UNESCO-listed churches — the Basilica of Bom Jesus, Se Cathedral and Church of St. Francis of Assisi. Allow two hours. Ride into Panaji, explore the Fontainhas Latin Quarter. Lunch at a Goan restaurant (try fish thali or prawn curry rice). Afternoon at Dona Paula jetty, then sunset on the beach.
nn
Day 2 — North Goa beaches. Morning swim at Anjuna or Vagator — dramatic red cliffs, excellent swimming at Ozran beach below. Visit Chapora Fort for panoramic views. Afternoon at Baga or Calangute. If Wednesday, hit Anjuna Flea Market. Dinner in the Assagao to Siolim belt.
nn
Day 3 — South Goa. Head to Palolem Beach — about an hour from the north but the atmosphere change is immediate. A crescent of sand between two headlands, calm water, colourful beach huts. Kayak to Butterfly Beach around the southern headland. Afternoon at Agonda Beach. Fresh seafood at sunset.
